Microneedling

Our Most Popular Resurfacing Treatment!

Not to be confused with microdermabrasion, which helps with uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, and fine lines using a non-invasive exfoliant on the surface area to achieve these benefits.

Microneedling goes way beyond the surface to achieve amazing results, enhancing your natural beauty…

What Does Microneedling Do?

Collagen induction therapy has been well researched and well documented as a safe and effective treatment in acne scarring, anti-aging, reducing the appearance of surgical scars and stretch marks, skin resurfacing, and in the treatment of burns and other skin damage.

The SkinStylus® MicroSystem uses collagen induction therapy as the primary mechanism of action by creating numerous small microchannels through the skin, which stimulates the body to produce new collagen and remodel the treatment area.

Instead of using laser energy to burn these microchannels through the skin, the SkinStylus uses disposable Biolock needle cartridges propelled by the SkinStylus to create microchannels. This mechanical creation of microchannels avoids the use of heat, thermal energy, or chemicals and virtually eliminates post-treatment sensitivity and down-time, all while achieving spectacular results.

Additionally, these microchannels allow large topical molecules that normally cannot penetrate the skin, to pass through the microchannels and help beautify the skin.

How Many Skinstylus Sessions Will I Need to See Results?

Microneedling, like other modalities, is used to treat various conditions and beautify the skin. Each client’s skin, conditions, severity, relative health, lifestyle, and budget are different. For example, the protocol for scars is different than the protocol for age management. Generally speaking, our clients report seeing results after the second session with many treatment plans consisting of 5-8 treatments and two maintenance treatments per year after that. Again, results may vary from person to person.

What to Expect During Your Microneedling Appointment

Appointments last about 30 minutes (they will be a bit longer if you are doing microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma). A numbing agent will be applied to the skin for a more comfortable treatment. Then you will lay back and the treatment itself takes 10 to 15 minutes of microneedling.

Patients often experience little to no discomfort and typically are pink or red upon leaving the office. Patients will experience some drying, peeling and slight discomfort in the 2-3 days that follow and will look like they have a mild to moderate sun burn. Most patients are able to resume normal activity the same day, but all patients will need to avoid sun exposure for seven days.

Microneedling can be used in conjunction with Botox or Dysport for absolutely incredible results!
